TDK required a global brand name for a range of industrial Bluetooth applications. The new brand name was required to appeal to a highly technical audience, be concise enough to appear on small microchips, provide enough flexibility to allow for future product innovations and be available as a domain name.
It was felt an alpha-numeric acronym would provide the most suitable fit to the above criteria. The name blu2i (Bluetooth Integration and Intelligence) was selected for its brevity, graphical distinctiveness and technical feel.
